PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet just added another role to his duties as Vice-President of the Cambodian’ People’s Party.
On December 10, the CPP Central Committee held a vote, where 99% of its members voted to elect the PM as one of five VPs for the party. The day before, nearly 500 new members were added to the Central Committee, bringing its total to 1,312 members. The CPP is currently led by the PM’s father, former Prime Minister Hun Sen, along with Honorary President Heng Samrin, the former National Assembly President.
The PM joins fellow VPs Sar Kheng (former Minister of Interior) , Say Chhum (Senate President, Tea Banh (former Minister of Defense) and Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An in his new position.
